If you follow my blog, you probably know I’ve come up with a blueprint for my intentions this year concerning my mind, body, and spirit. I want to provide you with a brief update on how things are going.
By far the biggest struggle is still the healthy eating intention. While the holiday goodies have disappeared, my cravings for sugar have not. I am, thanks to my FitBit, much more active these days, working out 5 times a week, approaching or exceeding the 10,000 step goal, and doing yoga at night instead of camping out on the couch. This has not led to any visible results thus far, because, well, see the topic sentence. Plus, I feel like I have the metabolism of a sloth these days!
I will continue to strive in this area, and I think the key is to continue to make small changes to my diet and incorporate each change for a week or so before I add on a new one. As many of you know, I’ve broken up with the diet industry and diet culture, but I still believe I can find a realistic place where I feel comfortable in my own body and am not continuing to pounds little by little. I consider this elusive place my sunny spot, and I will not quit trying to reach it.
By far the best thing I’ve done this month is fulfill my intention to go out in nature and try my new digital camera. I had the BEST day last Sunday when I went to a nearby lake by myself and walked around for hours, snapping photos of wildlife. Apologies for those on IG who have already seen these, but I really wanted to share because it brought me much pleasure and delight!
I started and ended with the Mute Swan because I could not decide what photo I liked better. They are two different swans… what do you think?
Looking forward to many more hours of discovery through my new lens.
Love and light.
Wonderful pictures and that sounds like a fabulous Sunday!! I just told my hubby I am doing far more couch sitting lately. My horse always kept me off the couch but now that he has passed on, I haven’t found a replacement. I really need to implement something, even if it’s small.
Thank you, Jackie! Yes, my FitBit has helped me be way more active lately. It even vibrates a reminder when you’ve been sitting too long. And records your steps and miles…I find it motivating. It’s hard in the winter though, especially where it’s super cold like your area! Take care, friend!
Thanks, Collette! There is definitely a good portion of us around here that tend to gain a few pounds in the winter however we then freak out and lose it for the most part when the weather enlightens us! 😆 I do love my Fitbit as well! In fact it’s 10pm here and it just told me “It’s about time for me to get ready for bed.” 😂 I do go to bed about 10pm every night so it likely has recorded that. You take care too!! 😃
Beautiful, and as I said, it makes me want a real camera, now! I love taking nature photos!
It’s calming.

Wendy
Yes, I’m loving the real camera Wendy. I need to read up on all the technical things though as far as exposures and all the different settings. Right now I’m just playing! Hope you are well!
The photos are awesome Collette! I’m so happy for you and this news lens-adventure!! Love the one with the peanut, that’s a classic. Well done my friend! ❤️
Thank you, Janet! I am loving nature photography. Gets you outside and keeps you walking! Take care, friend!
